Syndrig
A downloadable game
Syndrig (Old English for separate, distinct, or individual) is a rules-lite RPG that proves simple doesn't mean shallow. With just a single d6, create distinct characters and dive into adventures in minutes.
Simplicity at the core, but that doesn't mean the game isn't nuanced. Characters have a wide variety of abilities making them feel distinct from each other. Clerics and Wizards have class specific spell lists with a variety of options. Rangers have animal companions and enemies can be simple to complex with special abilities.
Magic is through a Mana resource which ebbs and flows as the adventure progresses. Characters can burn Mana to gain benefits and burn HP to gain Mana when desperate.
The player-facing resolution mechanic is very simple. Roll a D6 vs a difficulty. There are no stats or skills to manage. Just gear, abilities, and spells, which may alter the difficulty. Enemies have To Hit and To Avoid difficulties. In combat, roll equal or above To Hit to damage the enemy and roll equal or above To Avoid to dodge the enemy's attack.
The game also includes a Solo Play section with Solo Tools. These include oracles, theme tables, descriptors, and systems to randomize enemy combat actions.
Built to be hacked. The class system, simple mechanics, and table-driven content make it easy to customize. Create new classes with unique ability tables, design monsters with special powers, or use the system to make a space opera or cyberpunk game. Being released under Creative Commons 4.0 allows you to take it and make it yours.

Hi there,
Thank you very much for this game. I’m following your channel for quite some time.
I play Mythiria quite often. Now I found this one and I am very excited about it. I love d6 RPGs.
The layout and the rules are very nice and concise, very easy to read and understand. Simple, but with quite a lot of depth.
The solo tipps and rules are great. I like playing solo RPGs and those are very good made. One can see the love that was put into this game.
Most RPGs are overladen and too complicated for newcomers and even old RPG chaps like me. This one – and your other games – are made with the narrative in mind but come with sufficient mechanics to make sure the game does not simply turn out into a novel. I love those ability tables. Great work. If there is one (just minor) thing I would change is on page 8 & 10, the d36 table. Why don’t you make the table a 3d6 one? Add something or leave something out. This “d36” table breaks somehow the simplicity of the table rolls. I know, I’m complaining on a high level, but I find them odd to be frank. Again. Thanks for this pearl. You’re a great game creator. Cheers.
Thanks for the feedback and it's great to hear you're enjoying Mythiria and are excited about this game.
I really like those tables as well. The d36 table for the Cleric was a chore to put together. I didn't have enough ideas for a d66 table, so I cut it in half. That's the only reason it's d36.
I had a burst of inspiration and I'm working on expanding the abilities tables for the warrior, thief, and ranger. Compared to the cleric and wizard, they felt lacking. Also, after spending some time playing solo, I have a nice improvement for the Combat Abilities mechanic.
I hope to have a update out in a few days.
I agree it's a neat game. Thank you, author! I hope I get to playtest it sometime. 🥲
Take note that d36 has a linear probability curve (every result is as likely as every other), while 3d6 has a bell curve (because of adding rolls together, low and high numbers are very unlikely, and numbers around the average are the most likely). So you can't simply switch them around.
