A fantasy game based on Flexpiel, a fast and flexible system which works well for FKR style play.

Mythiria builds on Flexpiel by adding skills, roles, and a few extra rules for a fantasy setting including freeform rune magic. The game includes tips for running the game, play samples, and a micro setting along with some adventure hooks.

Solo Kit

After a number of solo sessions using Mythiria, I decided to put more effort into making solo tools that I could fold up and throw in a small bag with some dice. The Pocketfold and one page Simple Hex Crawl make a great packable solo RPG kit.

Other Games

Check out Heroic Tales if you're interested in a game that uses the same dice mechanic but with a little more crunch.

Check out Rough Destiny if you're interested in a post-apocalyptic game which plays exactly like Mythiria.

If you're looking for a more detailed setting, check out Silverfort: The Last Outpost. It references Heroic Tales, but works as-is with Mythiria.

Thank you for this game. I like it very much. I already tried a one-shot with it and we had plenty of fun. The adventure hooks are pretty neat and helped us to get started. I do have a question regarding the dice rolls. According rules, you either roll with disadvantage, normal or advantage, and add the edge dice if applicable. This caused me to scratch my head. If you for instance have a charming cleric, trying to talk to a farmer, this would be a normal rule (2 check dice) plus 1 edge die for being charming. However, one could also interpret the situation as follows: roll 3 check dice (advantage) because YOU ARE charming. Do you see my point? A skill, gear your role (personality) already gives you a reason for rolling with advantage so whats the point for the edge dice? This was the only thing which caused some discussion during the game. In the end we interpreted the rules like this: disadvantage, normal or advantage only applies to environmental or natural circumstances (Example: you are hidden behind a rock (advantage), your opponent is drunk (advantage), your are worn out, hurt and hungry (disadvantage). What is your advice on that?

Great to hear you're enjoying the game and the content is helpful for getting a game going.

How you ran it is exactly how I run it. Advantage or Disadvantage doesn't come into play often. If there's a clear advantage or disadvantage, then it applies, just like your examples. Shooting someone who's hiding behind a rock is going to be hard (Disadvantage) but the characters role, skill, and weapon still apply, so you still roll Edge dice for those.

Hopefully that helps!

A very cool game. I have been playing it solo and having a lot of fun. Also, the Oracle page is super useful for other games as well.

That's awesome! Great to hear you're having fun with it. I'm planning on starting a solo hex crawl game with it.
